Mac week news: MacBook Pro with 24 GB RAM? +++ Leak: Icon of the M4 Max appeared +++ Mac mini power button causes discussions | News

On Tuesday, Apple presented the Mac mini with the M4 and M4 Pro chip – and the mood is positive: the basic equipment has improved, the processors are faster, the case is smaller, the prices have not increased and yet unfortunately one detail is causing a lot of discussion . For unknown reasons, Apple placed the power button on the bottom of the device. Proponents argue that you never need the power button anyway because the Mac is in sleep mode most of the time. Others say that hibernation consumes energy unnecessarily and that you always turn off the Mac after use – and then the incorrectly positioned button is annoying.

M4 Max already visible on the Apple website…
…, at least as an icon. Apparently Apple accidentally published a small symbolic image of the M4 Max on its own website, even though no Mac with this level of expansion has yet been announced:

But the company quickly noticed the error – and within a short time the image disappeared again. It won't be long before Apple officially presents the M4 Max anyway, because Apple will most likely introduce the MacBook Pro 14″ and 16″ with M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max to the public this afternoon. Both of the previous Mac announcements this week took place at 4 p.m. German time, so it is highly likely that Apple will also present the MacBook Pro at that time.

MacBook Pro with 24 GB RAM in the basic configuration?
Apple has said goodbye to 8 GB of RAM: The iMac and the Mac mini come with at least 16 GB of RAM – the Mac mini with M4 Pro even has 24 GB. The MacBook Pro with M4 Pro and M4 Max will almost certainly be released this afternoon and these models will probably also have 24 GB of RAM in the basic configuration. But there is one exception: Apple also delivers the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 without the suffix to the name – and here the memory in the basic version should be 16 GB instead of 24 GB.
