Located on 100 acres of wooded land overlooking Lake Eufaula in southeastern Oklahoma, Narconon Arrowhead is not only Narconon's flagship drug rehabilitation facility, but also the international training center for the Narconon program.

Narconon graduates and their families gathered to share the program's successes and renew their commitment to helping others become drug-free forever.

In vivid contrast to the grim reports of the rising number of fentanyl overdose deaths and the steady rise in alcohol-related deaths, Narconon alumni gathered Oct. 12 at the Narconon Arrowhead New Life Center to celebrate years — and in some cases decades — of drug freedom to celebrate.

A diverse mix of ages and professions – from new mothers to grand parents, from business professionals to caregivers – gathered in the Arrowhead auditorium to listen to graduates' stories of overcoming drug addiction and now living happy, productive lives lead life. Many pledged to continue helping others in need of the program and educating their communities and youth about the dangers of drugs.

“This place has a very special place in my heart,” said Courtney Broughton, who attended the meeting with her family. Elaine Broughton, her grandmother, told those in attendance the family's history. She moved the audience to tears as she described how heartbroken she was at nearly losing her granddaughter to drug addiction and how grateful she is to Narconon for changing Courtney's life.

“We told Courtney she had to choose between drugs and us,” she said.

Courtney made that decision, and the program gave her a new life.

“We are so proud of her now. She is happy. She no longer has tantrums. She doesn't start fights. She is committed. But without this program and without your help, we wouldn't be here today, we would be standing at her grave and say, 'Courtney, we miss you so much.' Thank you also.”

Samantha Lott brought her husband and two children to the meeting.

“I can’t think of a better way to honor this program than by coming to this meeting with my husband and two children. This is a very special month for me.” She explained that she completed the Narconon program in October 2012 and is now still clean as of October 2024. They encouraged anyone who knows someone struggling to pick up the phone and call the center.

“For those of us who have battled addiction for decades, there is nothing more important than ensuring that the effective, proven Narconon program is available to all who need it,” said Bobby Newman of Narconon. “It works, it saves lives and it helps to finally close the revolving door of search.”

Narconon (which means “no drugs”) addresses not only the harmful effects of drug abuse on the mind and body, but also why a person turns to drugs in the first place. Narconon consists of a worldwide network of dozens of inpatient rehabilitation centers. The Narconon program is based on the discoveries and writings of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard and has existed for 50 years!

Narconon today consists of a worldwide network of 45 drug self-help centers. Narconon Arrowhead, Oklahoma, is at the forefront of Narconon drug self-help centers and is also an international training center. It delivers the Narconon drug self-help program and trains drug rehabilitation professionals from around the world.

Narconon continental centers in Africa, Australia, Canada, Europe, Great Britain and Latin America offer both the drug self-help program and specialist training within their continental area.
